Positive: The cottage itself was lovely, just as described. The alpacas were so cute, the owner was friendly when we met him. Parking is easy, area is safe, close to Alton towers and short drive to corner shops and takeaways. (No delivery) Negative: When we arrived, the owners didn’t answer the phone after multiple tries, we had emailed and texted several hours before arrival. We had to walk to their private residence to check in and find out where the keys were, we didn’t want to do this as it’s PRIVATE property but we were getting cold in the rain and were very tired. Guests had let themselves into the cottage we were staying in and used all the rooms, including one of the beds. The owner asked the guests to leave, but no cleaning was done for us, so we checked into a dirty, used cottage. I’m a cleaner by profession so I cleaned the kitchen/dining area, did the dishes they left and the toilet after them. We also disposed of the rubbish they left in the bins after our departure.

Cute, unique & convenient Positive: Very cute little cottage very close to Alton towers. Small but made great use of the space & was very clean and tidy with the added attraction of the playground and alpacas. Quite pricey for one night but great little Easter treat for my family.

Positive: Location is great, quiet but not too far from a couple of local villages with options for food & drink. Good self catering facilities and all the amenities you'd expect. Good outside facilities (picnic benches & playground).
